About Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Company.
For sixteen years, Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee (LTH) has fulfilled its mission to craft beautiful coffee, create purposeful work and cultivate flourishing communities. LTH has used coffee as a vehicle for positive change, sourcing specialty-grade coffee beans directly from 10,000 independent farmers in Rwanda to support economic development and community empowerment. We then roast these beans in Atlanta and share them with citizens all around the country.
Our Purpose.
We believe coffee is more than just hand-picked beans that are roasted to perfection. Coffee is an opportunity to do good, and doing good means we get to help affect whole communities for positive change. Land of a Thousand Hills takes the opportunity to do good and multiplies it through our Do Good Initiative. Choosing Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee directly supports a network of Rwanda coffee farming communities, providing the farmers with living wages, education, healthcare, and clean water through our Collaborative Trade™ model.
Our Coffee.
A beautiful coffee bean requires the perfect farming conditions. Rwanda's elevation, temperature, soil quality, and humidity combine to create some of the best coffee growing conditions in the world. This high elevation produces a more dense, richer bean. Due to less oxygen at higher altitudes, coffee cherries grow slowly creating a more concentrated flavor. We honor the coffee farmer by perfecting the fruit of their labor in every step of the process. Many hands have had a role in keeping the quality of our coffees as high quality as possible.
